    YARA-GRCG Applications

    YARA-GRCG Garden Applications

    Residents of Regina are provided an opportunity to experience the benefits of vegetable and orchard gardening. Grow Regina understands that gardening promotes enrichment of your body, your diet, and your spirit.

    In 2009, we have 237 families enjoying the fruits of their labour at Yara-Grow Regina Community Garden:

    • 38 families tending a mini plot (10′x10′);
    • 49 families tending a small plot (10′x20″);
    • 110 families tending a standard plot (20′x20′); and
    • 40 ambitious families tending an extra-large plot (20′x30′).

    YARA-GRCG Orchard Applications

    McLeod Park provides an opportunity for Regina to plant an orchard tree and/or adopt a memorial tree.

    In 2009, we are happy to report significant progress was made with up to 50 fruit trees, shrubs and vines now planted at the north eastern and north western corners of the YARA-Grow Regina Community Garden site.

    Space is available in the orchard for approximately 10 more trees applications in 2010.  Approximately 126 various fruit bearing native species being planted this spring as part of the Evergreen Community Greening Project which will become available to Adopt-A-Tree later in the season.
