    Fun in the Sun

    Dear Gardeners and Volunteers,

Today (Tuesday) was a great day to be out in the garden. We took full advantage of the extremely rare November day to get started with moving the organic waste material. It was not easy work, as the ground is still quite wet and the piles equally on the damp side. We managed to move a fair amount but have left lots for others to help with.

Environment Canada guarantees us warm, bright, sun shining days. We will be back at it for the rest of this week - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, from 1 p.m., until we get tired. Forecast calls for some rain this weekend. For Saturday, we will just wait a day or so before we commit to getting a work crew out.

We can use more wheelbarrows and long handled forks (hay forks). For the rest of the tools, I think we have enough.

Skills and talents required - if you can still breath you can lend a hand. We need loaders and unloaders, wheelbarrow pushers and dumpers, tractor driver, trailer loaders and trailer dumpers, forkers, shovelers and rakers. And for those that prefer more relaxing activities, we have a few garden plots that need to be cleaned up. We will find something for you to do. So please join us. It is not fair that so few of us get all the fun.

Thanks to the volunteers who did such a great job cleaning up the whole garden. It must have been a lot of work.
