Garden Operations Committee Volunteer Day: August 23, 2009
On August 23 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at YARA-GRCG volunteers will be participating in another Weed Control Campaign. If you are interested in helping, please meet John at the Garden Shed near the St. Mark’s parking lot at 1:00 pm for a quick orientation. Grow Regina will be reviewing basic weeding techniques to help avoid weed seed distribution and minimize future weeding problems. All volunteers are encouraged to view the article on ‘Weeds Common to YARA-GRCG’. Photos have been taken of every weed in the garden plus a few tree and shrub seedlings (ie manchurian elm and rosehip) that cause as much problems as weeds in a vegetable garden.
