Today, several Grade 1 students from Ruth M. Buck School planted their garden for Plant a Row • Grow a Row (PAR•GAR) at the Yara-Grow Regina Community Garden.  The weather was sunny, but windy!

Sheryl Miller, a loved Grade One Teacher at Ruth M. Buck School, has coordinated the planting of a garden with Grow Regina for several years now, but today’s planting is the start of a competition between Ruth M. Buck School and Jack MacKenzie School.

So far, a total of  58 pledges have been received from participating students and families. These families have committed to planting and growing long lasting vegetables for donation to the Food Bank.  We are excited that you have taken up the challenge!

In the fall, a collection date will be set for each school and the students will bring their bags of produce to the school.  After the total weight has been calculated, the winning school will select 20-25 students who participated in Plant a Row • Grow a Row (PAR•GAR) will be selected from a photo contest to attend a “Clay Sculpture Workshop presented by Vic Cicansky”.
